Death is at work

What does it mean to die to ourselves and yet be unique individuals? If I submit everything that makes me me - the good and the bad, then what is left? That's the point. To die to oneself means to die completely; everything must be submitted - strengths, weaknesses, personality traits, likes, dislikes, attitudes, rights, talents, IQs. And then we must trust Him to renew and resurrect that which is pleasing and honorable to Him. That which is made in His image and exists by His grace.

This life isn't meant to be a slow and painful death, but it must involve dying daily.

"We always carry around in our body the death of Jesus, so that the life of Jesus may also be revealed in our body. For we who are alive are always being given over to death for Jesus' sake, so that his life may be revealed in our mortal body. So then, death is at work in us..." (2 Corinthians 4:10-12a)
